Who knew I’d spend so much time pulling together a cohesive look for a brand that’s basically been 20+ years in the making? Back in the day, I swear it felt easier. Maybe this is my “back in my day!” moment, but really—you made a business card, handed it out, and boom… word of mouth did its thing.
Now? It’s post on the website, update the website, post on Instagram, share a story, film a video, take better pictures, be different—but not too different. Luckily, being a little different comes naturally to me, so I’ll take that win!
I’m still figuring out exactly what I want this space to be, but honestly? A big part of it came from products being totally over hyped that didn’t live up to the influencer glow. I was fed up! If I love something, I’ll tell you. If I don’t, I’ll definitely tell you.
In both design and my 9–5, I’m known for being straightforward and just a tiny bit opinionated (okay, maybe more than a tiny bit). My clients actually love that about me. They don’t have to take my advice—but when they circle back with a “you were right,” I won’t lie… it’s a little satisfying.
When it comes to trying something new, I genuinely look at things from every angle—what works, what doesn’t, and why. I’ve tested a lot of products, taken a ton of trips, experimented with baking, painting, design, clothing—you name it. Let’s just say I’ve gathered plenty of do’s and don’ts along the way.
The branding is mostly done (cue happy dance), and now it’s down to those tiny tweaks that require a cozy Friday night, my laptop, and fixing all the little details that bug me. And I really need to start using my notes app for all the random blog and Instagram ideas that pop into my head at the most inconvenient times. Ugh I will get it together soon, I promise and it will be grand!
